Fall is right around the corner. Check out these local possibilities in your neighborhood.

Salem:

Live in Salem and want to stay local for the day? Head to Bauman’s Farm and Garden, a great place to spend the afternoon on a fall day. During harvest season, this family-owned farm features a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and other family friendly activities. For an intimate wine-tasting experience, make your way to Cristom Vineyards. This winery is known for their amazing Pinot Noir. Plus, they offer a cozy atmosphere during the fall season. And when hunger strikes, don't miss the chance to indulge in Latin-inspired cuisine and craft beer at Xicha Brewing Company.

Corvallis:

Nature enthusiasts will find their paradise in Corvallis at Fitton Green. Its well-maintained trails offer breathtaking views of the Willamette Valley and Cascade Range, providing an ideal escape for hikers and birdwatchers alike. For some adult-friendly fun, go over to 4 Spirits Distillery. Sit outside for happy hour and enjoy the beautiful scenery and a memorable drinking experience. Searching for a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Corvallis? Look no further than Kimhoa’s Kitchen. Here you’ll experience authentic Vietnamese cuisine that will not disappoint.

Albany:

Looking for a place to purchase fresh, locally grown produce this fall? A visit to the Albany Farmers’ Market might be a good choice for you. The market also features artisanal products such as handcrafted bread, cheese, meats, and specialty foods. You’ll also find a host of community events and activities for all ages. Into art? Gallery Calapooia is a cooperative gallery of 21 local artists in Albany, Oregon. Stop by for a while to experience art in a wide range of disciplines such as acrylic painting, ceramics, and glasswork. When you’re hungry, check out local taco shop, Tacos El Machin for the best street tacos in town. This restaurant is a favorite with the locals that should not be missed!

Lebanon:

Have a couple of hours to kill? Check out the Japanese Garden at Boulder Falls Inn, which is open year-round. This garden was designed by the same artist behind the Portland Japanese Garden, Hoichi Kurisu. This is a gorgeous 1-acre park. For dinner, visit the first commercial brewery in Lebanon, Conversion Brewing. If you like pizza, you’re sure to find a wide variety of options at this fun eating spot.

Newport:

In Newport for the day, or live there and looking for a new activity? Visit Cobblestone Beach at Otter Crest Loop. This lesser-known cobblestone beach offers a secluded beach experience, and will certainly be less crowded than other beach spots. Hungry? Stop at a well-known seafood restaurant in Newport, Local Ocean Seafoods. There’s a reason why this spot is popular. It’s considered the premier destination for fresh, local seafood in Newport!
