Giving Back to Our Communities

Central Willamette is committed to enrich our community through our volunteer efforts.  We actively participate and support civic organizations and events and are pleased to report that our employees contributed nearly 3,600 hours of volunteer service last year!  Each employee is encouraged to find their passion and follow it.  Credit Union employees give their own time to support the community that they live and work in.

A few of the Annual Credit Union and on-going projects are:

Business/School Partnerships:

Central Willamette has Business/School Partnerships with two elementary schools and one high school in our area. Through these Partnerships, Credit Union staff serve as Lunch Buddies, provide financial education and participate in school events.

Giving Trees:

Credit Union staff recognizes that within our communities there are many families who would not be able to enjoy the Christmas holidays without help.  Each year staff adopts several families and provides gifts for the children and an entire holiday dinner for the family. A non-perishable food drive is held in conjunction with the Giving Tree project.

Fundraising Walks:

Central Willamette employees participate in the annual Relay for Life, March of Dimes Walk and the  Soroptimist Breast Cancer Walk for the Cause.

Chamber of Commerce:

Employees participate with local area Chambers of Commerce in our communities serving in many capacities, including Governmental Affairs Committee, Greeters, Ambassadors, Marketing Committee, and the Board of Directors.

Red Cross Blood Drive:

An Annual Red Cross Blood Drive is held at our Pacific branch in June,  Waverly branch in August and in our Corvallis branch in October.

Kidzshop (formally known as Child Spree):

Central Willamette employees participate each year in Altrusa Club's Kidzshop. Employees donate their time to help  children in need shop for new school clothes.

Credit Unions for Kids:

Funds are raised by selling Sees candy to staff, members and friends of the Credit Union.  The proceeds of this fundraiser benefit Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

Other Involvement:

As well as special events, Credit Union employees are involved in service organizations such as Albany Rotary and Greater Albany Rotary Clubs, Soroptimist, Habitat for Humanity, Samaritan Albany General Hospital Auxiliary, Greater Albany Public Schools, Linn Benton Community College, and Altrusa. Central Willamette's employees volunteer their time to serve on Board of Directors, various task forces and key committees.
